We are delighted today to be launching the Top Tips for Trans Inclusion in Youth Work Spaces. The Youth Agency have been working in partnership with Healthy Respect, LBGT Youth Scotland, the Lothian Association of Youth Clubs and young people to produce this document.
We recognise that to welcome, include and help trans and non-binary young people feel safe can take more than good thoughts and sometimes we need to take action too. The Top Tips focuses on ways that the youth work sector can create safe spaces for trans and non-binary young people. We hope that the resource will help other youth workers in their role and show how some small changes can have a meaningful impact. This can be easy as displaying posters or using gender neutral language.
To accompany the document we have also facilitated two workshops to offer further help and support for those organisations and workers keen to increase their awareness of trans inclusion. Thank you to the approximately 60 participants that took part and we hope that you enjoyed the training and find the Top Tips helpful.
