There’s been no sign of the January blues at the Pyramid for staff or young people. In fact, the year has got off to a great start with loads of fun nights and things to celebrate.
Our young people tried their hand at beating some world records. How many toilet rolls can you balance on your head? What’s the highest Jenga tower you can build? How long would it take you to arrange the alphabet from a tin of alphabet spaghetti? We don’t admitting that we fell just a touch short and didn’t quite break any records. We had a lot of laughs trying!
We’ve also enjoyed celebrating Burns Night with our mini indoor highland games. Hilarity and competition ensued in equal measure as we competed in various games including the welly wang, tug o’ war and highland dancing. The night was a great success thanks to our young people throwing themsevles wholeheartedly into the games and they most definitely earned their Scottish snacks.
Last week we welcomed the new Chinese New Year with some Chinese inspired cooking and craft activites. Our young people made a delicious, not to mention healthy, vegetarian chow mein and put together stained glass decorations to celebrate the year of the tiger.
This month we’re as busy as ever as we plan to celebrate LGBT History Month and will be hitting the kitchen again as we enjoy pancake day.
