The Youth Agency rounded off a busy term at Forrester High School by working with all of their S3 pupils. We ran sessions for all S3 classes on alcohol awareness which raised a lot of interesting discussion. Many S3 pupils discussed how they felt that drinking alcohol is expected in their age group and the challenges and concerns they face because of this.
We ran activities designed to highlight and fill in gaps around knowledge of alcohol and its effects. We also worked with small groups to look at the wider consequences of alcohol use including the effects of drinking on different kinds of relationships, lifestyle and health as well as risk-taking behaviour.
Although the sessions predominantly focused on alcohol, staff were also on hand to answer other drug and health related questions.
