Someone may have forgotten to tell the weather that it’s summer but here at the Youth Agency we’ve not forgotten. Our summer activities, of course, look a bit different this year but we’ve had lots of fun. We’ve been meeting online with young people throughout the summer and delivering packs of fun filled activities every week for us to do together and to help keep our young people amused when we are apart.
A lot of our old, favourite activities have put in an appearance along with some new challenges to make the most of our online environment. We’ve been enjoying arts and crafts including scratch art, plate faces and even making our own wooden money boxes. We’ve also loved keeping our eyes peeled playing bingo and put our wits to the test to make it out of the online escape room. A particular highlight has been donning fancy dress, trying out our accents and acting out our murder mystery night. Well done to all of the young people for solving the crime!
The fun doesn’t end there. It wouldn’t be summer without a sports day and we look forward to our online egg and spoon (beach spade and beanbag) race. Of course, summer also means cooking and treats and this year we will be delivering and making chocolate pizzas with lots of sweetie toppings. Shhh! Don’t tell the young people, it’s a surprise!
