Staff from the Youth Agency were delighted to attend Forrester High School annual award ceremony last night. It was an inspiring evening and wonderful to see so many young people accept awards recognising their talent, hard work and positive attitude.
We were delighted, also, to present the Youth Agency Personal Achievement Award. This award is made annually and, rather than recognising academic, musical and sporting achievements, generally goes to a young person who has worked hard and overcome personal obstacles to make progress towards their own, personal, goals.
For the first time, the award this year was not presented to a pupil. Instead, we were thrilled to present the award to pupil support leader Miss Scott for her relentless hard work in setting up the LGBTI + Allies group in school as well as her commitment to ensuring the school is a place where all young people feel safe, supported and can truly be themselves.
Here Miss Scott is pictured with some S6 pupils and fellow award winners.
